This guide covers some important details to join my Minecraft server so make sure to read the “Useful Guides, Wikis, and Tips” section when you join the server! If you can’t find the server, it may be temporarily down for some reason (power outage, crappy internet, something broke, etc.). I would also recommend bookmarking this page and checking back for updates!

Note
If the server goes down, message me on Discord about it. I sometimes take it down to add/remove mods, update the server, change configuration, do other things, blah blah blah
Getting Started
There are a couple of things to do before joining the server, but steps are…
- Install Minecraft + Forge
- Install Java (optionally version 17 or 25)
- Install mods (link to ZIP)
- Add the server
minecraft.towk2.me - Check out “How-to-Play” resources
Some things to note:
- Survival only
- PVP is disabled
- Cheats are disabled
- Loot is dropped when you die
- Difficulty is set to normal (for now)
- Max player count is set to 8, but this may increase in the future
Install Minecraft
This goes without saying…but you will need to have the Java edition of Minecraft Forge installed with version 1.20.1. The Bedrock edition (iPhone, Android, XBox, etc.) will not work and therefore is not cross-platform! It WILL work for any platform that can run Java (Windows, MacOS, or Linux).
Install Java
Note
If you’re able join the server without installing these versions of Java, then you can skip this step.
You will also need to use Java 17 or 25 (e.g. openjdk-17 or openjdk-25).
For Windows, download and install Java from the main website.
For Arch Linux, refer to the Java ArchWiki page for details on how to install and switch which java is used (hint: use archlinux-java). The gist of it is this:
pacman -S openjdk17 openjdk25
archlinux-java status
archlinux-java set java-17-openjdk
Everyone else is on your own. Good luck (Mac users)!
Required Mods
To play on the server, you will need to download all of the mods that the server runs. Download the ZIP of them here and extract them to your mods folder. Here’s a list of all of them you should have. The tacticalmovement-1.0.0.jar should be in the main mods folder instead of the mods/disable for clients.

Useful Guides, Wikis, and Tips
This Minecraft server has a lot of mods with a bunch of new stuff added to the game. Some of it has in-game documentation while others…do not. Here are some links that should be helpful to learn how to play on this server:
- Timeless and Classics Zero NAMU Guide
- Timeless and Classics Zero Wiki
- Traveler’s Backpack Wiki
- Create Mod Wiki 1 (create.fandowm.com)
- Create Mod Wiki 2 (wiki.createmod.net)

Key bindings
When you join the game, you may also want to re-bind a couple of keys since the default settings have a couple of conflicts. Here are some of the keys that I re-bind. This will likely change as I progress through the game.
| Action | Key/Mouse Button |
|---|---|
| Sprint | Left Shift |
| Sneak | Left Alt |
| Open/Close Inventory | F |
| Open/Close Backpack | B |
| Create Waypoint | Ctrl + B |
| Interact with Gun | Mouse Forward (Button 5) |
| Swap with Offhand | Mouse Backward (Button 4) |
| Swap with Toolbelt | MMB |
| Swap with Backpack tools | Ctrl + X |
| Refit (Attachments) | Z |
| Unload | Ctrl + R |
| Melee | V |
| Lean Left | Q |
| Lean Right | E |
| Zoom (default, not gun) | X |
| Crawl (with guns only) | C |
| Toggle Backpack ability | Ctrl + N |
| Toggle fire mode | G |
What else do you need basic resources for?
This is how the common base game resources are used along with some new ones. This list is based on my experience so far playing.
| Item | Purpose | Relative Amount Needed |
|---|---|---|
| Andesite | Basic building block for contraptions | A LOT!! |
| Copper | Ammo, Contraptions, Piping | A LOT!! |
| Iron | Just about everything (especially Guns and attachments) | This is probably the most needed resource overall |
| Zinc | Contraptions | Modest |
| Gold | Backpack upgrades | Low |
| Diamond | Backpack upgrades, Top tier guns, other miscellanous things | Low-Modest |
Getting Started with Building Contraptions
There are a couple things to do to get started building these things.
- Build
andesite alloyusingiron nuggets andandesite - Smelt the
andesite alloyintoandesite ingots - Create
shafts with 2andesite ingots aligned vertically - Create
cog wheels withshafts andwooden planks
From there, you will need a something like a mechanical press to generate rotational force. I like to start with a water wheel since they’re easy to create and all you need is water.
- Combine
wooden planks surrounding ashaftin the center for thewater wheel - Combine
wooden planks again for alarge water wheel - Use a water source or pour a
water bucketabove the water wheel to generate rotational force- The rotational force of your contraptions cannot exceed the total stress of the generated force
Once you got a water wheel in place, try connect the water wheel to a mechanical press and increase the rotational speed.
Tip
To increase rotational speed, connect a
cog wheelto alarge cog wheel. You should notice thecog wheelcompletes a rotation faster than the larger one. Then, attach anotherlarge cog wheelto thecog wheelwhere theshaftgoes. The newlarge cog wheelshould now rotate faster than the initial one.
Setting and Using Waypoints
Waypoints help you navigate the world easier but they’re only client-side. The teleport feature is disabled so you won’t be able to fast travel around everywhere. I would recommend setting a waypoint to “Home” and any points of interest that you find so you know where to look.
Waypoints can be set either using a hot-key or from the large map. I prefer to set them on-the-go, so I have the shortcut binded.
More tips
- In general, the mods add a lot of new recipes, mechanics, tools, machines, etc. so make sure you learn more about them as you play!
- Check out some of the backpacks available to craft like the Spider or Squid backpacks.
- You can use the
/pondercommand to view details about items and blocks added to the game by the “Create” mod. You may also want to ponder (W by default) recipes to learn more how to contraptions and how to build them. - This server has dynamic lighting enabled so it’s a good idea to carry torches in your offhand! Press ‘F’ to swap the item hand by default.
- You’re going to need A LOT of copper, iron, and gunpowder for the guns and ammo so save as much as you can! Some of the better guns are going to need other things like Redstone and Nether quartz too.
- Gunpowder can be made with sugar, charcoal, and flint or sugar, coal, and sulfur dust so make sure to check the recipe for ammo!
